– ground turkey – avocado oil – garlic cloves, minced – diced white onion – bell peppers, chopped – can tomato sauce – can diced tomatoes in tomato juice – can mild green chilies – dried oregano – dried basil – garlic powder – salt, or more to taste – black pepper – coconut sugar – long-grain white or brown rice – chicken stock, or sub broth

1. Heat oil in pot and lightly brown ground turkey. Add in onions and garlic and combine, then add in spices and cook till turkey is brown.

2. Add in bell pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

3. Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, green chilies, rice, and broth.

4. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes. Stir occasionally so rice doesn't stick to the bottom.
