– penne pasta
– crushed tomatoes, no salt added canned
– white onion
– garlic cloves
– sweet Italian chicken sausage, cooked and sliced
– pesto
– Italian seasonings
– salt or to taste
– chicken broth
– head kale chopped
– Parmesan for garnish
– fresh basil for garnish
– chili flakes for garnish
1. In a large pot add the pasta, crushed tomatoes, pesto, onion, garlic seasonings, sausage, and kale. Pout over chicken broth and stir combining ingredients.
2. Over high heat bring pasta to a boil. Boil and stir frequently till broth is almost all evaporated, 12 minutes. Turn heat off and continue to stir for about 5 more minutes.
