Better than Taco Bell and ready in 30 minutes. Seasoned ground meat, warm nacho cheese sauce, a crispy corn tostada, sour cream, fresh lettuce and tomato all wrapped in a golden butter toasted flour tortilla. Use ground turkey, beef, or chicken — whatever your family loves most.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and saute 30 seconds. Add ground meat and cook breaking it up until fully cooked through. Add minced garlic and cook 60 seconds. Add all seasonings, tomato paste, and water. Cook 3 to 4 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the meat. Set aside.
Warm nacho cheese sauce according to package directions. Keep warm while assembling.
Set up your assembly line. Everything laid out and ready before you start.
Lay large flour tortilla flat. Add meat filling in the center. Spoon nacho cheese over filling. Place corn tostada on top. Spread sour cream over tostada. Add lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Do not overfill.
Step 5: Fold edges of tortilla up and over the center creating overlapping pleats all the way around. Press firmly to seal. Place seam side down. If tortilla cracks warm in microwave 15 seconds first.
Heat large skillet over medium heat with a pat of butter. Place crunchwrap SEAM SIDE DOWN. Cook 2 to 3 minutes until deeply golden. Flip carefully and cook another 2 to 3 minutes until both sides are golden and crispy.
Slice diagonally in half with one clean confident cut. Serve immediately with hot sauce on the side.
Notes
Use ground turkey, beef, or chicken. All three work with the same seasonings and method.
Jarred nacho cheese sauce is perfectly fine and makes this recipe doable on a busy weeknight.
Saute onion 30 seconds before adding the meat for more depth of flavor.
Do not overfill or the crunchwrap will not fold cleanly.
Warm tortillas 15 seconds in the microwave if they crack when folding.
Always cook seam side down first to seal the crunchwrap shut.
Medium heat only for toasting. High heat burns the outside before the inside gets warm.
Serve immediately. Crunchwraps lose their crispiness quickly.
Leftover meat filling keeps in the fridge up to 4 days. Assemble fresh crunchwraps when ready. 🌯🔥
